The Daydream Club

On the Move

Wondering off

Silver and copper

Onto the next door step

Bring me along

Pack me in your bag

Take me

On the move

Islands abroad

Air, road or water

So much to see and to do

Carry with you

Memories of all this

Take them

On the move

On and on

Never gone too long

On and on

Bring me with you

On the road again

On and on

The Affair

There by the phone again

She sits all alone again

And when he comes hoe it's a distant cry

Of love that once was full of endless life

Light casts a gloomy truth

She yearns for the days of youth

The scent of perfumed skin on his clothes depart

She reaches for a knife with a desperate heart

Night of a thousand moons

She weeps as the curtains close

An aching sorrow lingers in the air

The love that once was is no longer there

Alarms Ring Out

It's early morning and alarms ring out

Beat my head about again

I'll take the good, the bad, the anything

Be there for my kin always

Will the routine ever end?

And can the situation mend?

Or will it pull us out of trend?

We'll lay them out all side by side

And you will find that you can walk for miles

And never touch the ground

It's early morning and alarms ring out

Beat my head about again

I'll take the good, the bad, the anything

Be there for my kin always

Take a stand and start again

Build a life up for yourself

Leave the wrong turns on the shelf

We'll lay them out all side by side

And you will find that you can walk for miles

And never touch the ground

It's early morning and alarms ring out

Beat my head about again

I'll take the good, the bad, the anything

Be there for my kin always

The Record Shop

Every week I buy a record from the shop around the corner

A piece of time that's written in the tramlines of the vinyl

The old man serves me coffee and we talk about the weather

His voice is husk and holds a solemn song

Every week I buy a record from the shop around the corner

The building has charisma proudly standing on the hillside

A glimmer of the ocean as I look through the window

And I can't help but feel like something has died

Every week I buy a record from the shop around the corner

The old man grows more distant every time I go to see him

"I don't see as many faces as I used to" he tells me

He feels the record's lost, just like his shop

I used to buy records from the shop around the corner

The old man served me coffee and we'd talk about the weather

Now the shop has gone and my weekly past time's over

I fear the record's lost... just like the shop

Neon Love Song

Lay me down on velvet ground

Taste your last embrace

Ambience and power

Power and grace

Power and grace

Not a case of monochrome love

It's a full spectrum glove

Ambience and power

Power and grace

Power and grace

This is a Neon love Song

Hear the voice of something silver

Rush of crimson thunder

Ambience and power

Power and grace

Power and grace

Overgrown

Imagine the future

It's me and a dream

With arms 'round each other

A luxury scene

Never before have I taken a fall

That makes me want to stop

Hope has gone from my dreams

I cannot see you

All this aside I've got love in my life

And yet somehow it seems

Hope has gone from my dreams

I cannot see you

Now I cannot see you

It's all overgrown

I'm clearing the ruins

I'm climbing the tree

To help all the others

I need to fix me

Never before have I taken a fall

That makes me want to stop

Hope has gone from my dreams

I cannot see you

All this aside I've got love in my life

And yet somehow it seems

Hope has gone from my dreams

I cannot see you

Now I cannot see you

It's all overgrown

Touch My Bones

I stand in a line up of three

A rabbit a hedgehog and me

Remove all the things that you see

Deep in my core is the key

Touch my bones

You can touch my bones

I stand on the edge of my heart

Don't really know where to start

We pass by each other each day

Don't really know what to say

Touch my bones

You can touch my bones

This is not a whisper of my affections

I will shout them loud

English Rain

Catching up on old times

I learned a lot about you

From someone else

Everybody needs someone

And you had yours

But what difference

Could one more have made

In a world of closed doors?

Open up, let in the air

Flood your thoughts with English rain

Everybody needs someone

And you had yours

But what difference

Could one more have made

In a world of closed doors?

Flood your thoughts with English rain

Don't drown, float away

Everybody needs someone

And you had yours

But what difference

Could one more have made

In a world of closed doors?

Square

It is fine to walk in line

Oh you're a square

Oh I'm a square

Oh we are square

Oh we are square

I don't mind the talk in rhyme

Oh you're a square

Oh I'm a square

Oh we are square

Oh we are square

I want to make this clear

Why should I care if I prefer tea to beer?

Does that make me square?

I want to make this clear

I couldn't care less

I prefer tea to beer

Maybe I'm square

Oh you're a square

Oh I'm a square

Oh we are square

Oh we are square

In The Arms Of Another Day

Sunshine fills my room today

The morrow brings a mellow haze

Never know if I should stay

I'll leave it in the arms of another day

I love it but I hate it

I'm trapped but I want to be trapped

I'm here but I'm not quite there

Busy chasing a lost dream

Autumn orange plays misty on my mind

Departing is the time I find

On and on this delicate dismay

I'll leave it in the arms of another day

I love it but I hate it

I'm trapped but I want to be trapped

I'm here but I'm not quite there

Busy chasing a lost dream

Days come but the clock is lost

Days go and still no better off

Never know if I should stay

I will leave it in the arms of another day

I love it but I hate it

I'm trapped but I want to be trapped

I'm here but I'm not quite there

Busy chasing a lost dream

A PICTURE OF YOU

With the sun light on my face

I remember the days of a golden haze

One day when I am back with you

i won't be feeling these blues

They will be gone, gone, gone.

I write from afar with tales of my scars

Holding a picture of you

What gets me through are the memories of youth

And a picture of you

Memories of youth and a picture of you

With the evening drawing in

The cold air clinging to my skin

I keep you deep within

In a box beside my bed

i have saved all the things you said

You're never gone, gone, gone

I write from afar with tales of my scars

Holding a picture of you

What gets me through are the memories of youth

And a picture of you

Memories of youth and a picture of you

Writing from afar with tales of my scars

All that gets me through are thoughts of youth

And a picture of you

Be With You Always

See her long brown hair

And her deep blue eyes wash over me

i ask her what's her name and she says...

"Why do you want to know my name?"

You're not like any of the others

I can see me with you always

I could be with you always

I could be with you always

Feel his inner song

Singing out I harmonise along

Like a pulse plays with my rhythm of life

Should I lose myself or hold back for now

You're not like any of the others

I can see me with you always

I could be with you always

I could be with you always

I will be with you always

I will be with you always
